Also known as
Ferran Adria Acosta, The Alchemist of elBulli

Long before foam and smoke became fancy-restaurant cliches, Ferran Adrià blew up fine dining completely. He took over a quiet cove in Catalonia, turned cooking into mad science, and had global foodies begging for one of just a few thousand tables a year. Eating at elBulli was not dinner. It was a dizzying thirty-course rollercoaster that completely changed how chefs everywhere looked at a plate.

Then, at the very peak of his fame, he walked away. He shut the dining room doors for good and turned the place into a culinary lab and museum. These days, he spends his time archiving food history, running a foundation, and reminding everyone who really started the modern dining craze. A proper icon who quit while he was impossible to beat.
