As the razor-sharp lead guitarist for The Strokes, Nick Valensi helped kickstart the entire 2000s garage rock revival. Armed with his trusty vintage Epiphone Riviera and effortless New York cool, his interlocking riffs with Albert Hammond Jr. redefined modern indie rock and turned five downtown Manhattan kids into global stars practically overnight.
He didn't stop with the band that made him famous. Valensi branched out to front his own power-pop outfit, CRX, and popped up on tracks with everyone from Sia to Regina Spektor. Decades into the game, he's still packing arenas, picking up Grammy hardware, and showing the kids how guitar solos are actually done.
