Philip King is an English musician and bassist who rose to prominence in the UK alternative and indie rock scenes during the 1980s and 1990s. Early in his career, he performed and recorded with influential indie acts, including Felt, The Servants, and Biff Bang Pow!, establishing a reputation as a versatile bassist and collaborative musician.
In late 1991, King joined the critically acclaimed shoegaze band Lush, contributing bass throughout the band's peak commercial years, including the albums 'Split' and 'Lovelife'. Following Lush's initial disbandment, King toured as a live bassist with The Jesus and Mary Chain and participated in Lush's 2015–2016 reunion before departing the group.
